It all starts here...

Whether you're new to the trails or looking to level up your short-distance mountain running, our 16-week Buffalo Stampede 20km program is designed to help you meet this technical, punchy event with strength and confidence.

With over 1,000m of elevation gain packed into 20km, this race demands preparation that goes beyond just getting out the door.

This program meets you where you are: with structure, care and a coaching team that sees the whole runner, not just the result. Expect to be challenged, but also deeply supported as you train.

What makes Her Trails different?
  • We train the whole runner: Yes, you’ll build climbing legs and aerobic endurance, but you’ll also learn how to support your nervous system, align with your cycle, and stay connected to what matters to you.
  • We coach in real time: Join live weekly coaching and community calls to get your questions answered, troubleshoot any roadblocks, and stay anchored in a shared journey.
  • We are built by and for women: Our programs are created by a team that understands female physiology, psychology and the lived realities of training around life’s complexities.
  • You’ll never be “just following a plan”: You’re joining a living, breathing training experience, full of context, coaching and connection, designed to evolve with you as you move towards this goal.
  • Train wherever you are: Whether you're in the city, the bush, or travelling in between, your sessions and community are fully accessible from your phone or device, whenever you need them.

What’s included in your 16-week program:

  • 4–6 structured run sessions per week: built specifically for Buffalo’s elevation, terrain and duration.

Wow.. I’ve just finished the Sky Run at Buffalo and I still can’t believe what I’ve done. The course was no joke... steep, technical, and relentless!!!!! but I felt ready. Throughout the race, I kept hearing the coaches’ voices from our weekly calls, reminding me to stay steady, to back myself on the climbs, to trust my body. That support stayed with me the whole way. I crossed the line feeling strong, emotional, and genuinely proud. This wasn’t just a race, it was a turning point.

I signed up for the Buffalo 20km thinking it would be a fun challenge, but what I didn’t expect was how much I’d grow, both as a runner and in myself. The Her Trails program gave me so much more than a training plan. I learned how to fuel properly, how to pace climbs, how to back myself on technical descents: but most of all, I felt held. The weekly calls kept me connected, the strength and mobility sessions were a game changer, and the community reminded me that it’s okay to show up as you are.
