Why the TUM50?
Beginning at the serene Firmin Field, Kawerau, and culminating at the bustling Village Green in Rotorua, the TUM50 offers an extraordinary blend of difficulty and allure. As you traverse through 50km of varied terrain, you'll experience the calm of two serene lakes, the solitude of the Tarawera Forest, beautiful waterfalls, picturesque bends of the Eastern Okataina track, majestic redwoods, and the unique thermal landscapes of Sulphur Point.
Her Trails: Redefining Training
At Her Trails, we offer more than just a finish line. Our 20-week program for the TUM50 is designed to equip you with physical stamina, mental toughness, and a profound appreciation for the journey itself.
Building Foundations and Strength
Our program begins with a 4-week foundational phase to ready your body and mind for the adventure that lies ahead. The following 16-week progressive phase systematically boosts your endurance and strength, customised specifically to the distinctive terrains of the TUM50.
Harmony, Resilience, and Community
We acknowledge that preparing for a long-distance run requires a harmonised approach. With an emphasis on strength training, mobility exercises, and yoga, our comprehensive program enhances your total physical capabilities. Crucially, mindset coaching is intertwined in our training, intended to strengthen your mental resilience.
Joining Her Trails means integrating into a nurturing community of women, bound by a common goal.
Nutrition, Healing, and Guidance
Our program also recognises the importance of nutrition and physical therapy for peak performance and injury prevention. Guided by our seasoned coaches, you'll explore these crucial aspects of training. Their expertise will aid and guide you, each step of the journey.

Your Program Building Blocks
Experience a gradual and safe progression in your training with our proven system designed to prevent injuries and optimise your performance. Our program combines a variety of training sessions, including base mile, speed, hill, threshold, active recovery sessions, and long runs workouts.
Weekly Trail Time
Elevate your experience with our weekly episodes covering essential topics. From technique and gear to support systems, recovery, and safety, we provide valuable insights to enrich your trail journey and apply its wisdom in your everyday routine.
Run Specific Strength
Build strength, resilience, and longevity with our weekly 30-60 minute at-home strength videos. Activate, stabilise, and train your body through targeted exercises that enhance your running performance and help prevent injuries.
Enhance your body's mobility and unlock its full range of motion with our weekly 15-50 minute mobility sessions. Address imbalances, combat physical stress, and alleviate fatigue as you give your body the freedom to move and perform at its best.
Our weekly coaching sessions provide a dedicated space to address your progress, challenges, and modifications.
