This marathon is a showcase of nature's grandeur, leading you across the dramatic clifftops to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. Your resolve will be tested with every step, from the mesmerising vistas at Evans Lookout to the ancient, carved pathways of the canyon, climaxing in a gruelling ascent that promises to challenge even the most seasoned runners.

At Her Trails, we see the Hounslow Marathon as a pinnacle of trail running achievement. Our 20-week program is carefully crafted to prepare you for the diverse terrains and elevations you’ll face. From foundational training to peak performance, we aim to build your endurance, strength, and love for the adventure that lies in every run.

Training Phases: Foundation and Ascent

Kick off with a 4-week foundational phase, grounding you in the essentials of trail running and mental preparation. The subsequent 16 weeks are a progression to trail marathon mountain fitness, focusing on the unique challenges of the Hounslow Marathon's landscape. From navigating steep inclines to mastering long distances, our program is your blueprint to success.

A Holistic Approach: Physical and Mental Training

We combine physical training with mental toughness workshops, yoga, and mobility exercises, ensuring a well-rounded preparation. Our mindset coaching sessions are designed to forge the resilience needed to conquer the course's daunting 2500m ascent and the mental agility to navigate its technical trails.

Run Programming

Experience a gradual and safe progression in your training with our proven system designed to prevent injuries and optimise your performance. Our program combines a variety of training sessions, including base mile, speed, hill, threshold, active recovery sessions, and long runs workouts. 

Weekly Trail Time

Elevate your experience  with our weekly episodes covering essential topics. From technique and gear to support systems, recovery, and safety, we provide valuable insights to enrich your trail journey and apply its wisdom in your everyday routine. 


Run Specific Strength

Build strength, resilience, and longevity with our weekly 30-60 minute at-home strength videos. Activate, stabilise, and train your body through targeted exercises that enhance your running performance and help prevent injuries. 


Mobility Session

Enhance your body's mobility and unlock its full range of motion with our weekly 15-50 minute mobility sessions. Address imbalances, combat physical stress, and alleviate fatigue as you give your body the freedom to move and perform at its best.


Coaching Support

Our weekly coaching sessions provide a dedicated space to address your progress, challenges, and modifications. We believe in the power of personalised support, and our coaches are here to guide you through your journey, offering valuable insights and motivation.
