The Kathmandu Coast to Coast Mountain Run is a true mountain challenge across New Zealand’s rugged South Island terrain. The route follows the Mingha-Deception Track from the West Coast to Goat Pass, traversing rocky riverbeds, alpine trails, and multiple river crossings. Known for its dramatic scenery and technical demands, the course tests your strength, endurance, and ability to adapt to unpredictable backcountry conditions.

This segment is part of the iconic Coast to Coast event, providing a standalone mountain running experience for those who love navigating technical trails and harsh alpine environments.

The run is in 4 parts:

  • 14 km braided river and river crossings
  • 5 km of un-runnable rock scramble to the pass at 900m
  • 5km of steep up/down mountain trail, and
  • 10km more braided river and boulder hopping.
