Our Larapinta Retreat (April 21-27, 2024) is almost full—only two spots remain.

If you’ve been feeling the pull, wondering if this is a hell yes or a hell no, this blog is for you.

Last year, Abbey Ford stood at this same crossroads, uncertain but intrigued. She felt drawn to the 6-night women's immersion but questioned: Is that feeling enough to take the leap? Three weeks before departure, she said yes.

Now, she’s returning as a facilitator, guiding others through the same process of trusting their gut, surrendering to adventure, and stepping into the unknown.

In her video message above, Abbey shares what making that last-minute decision felt like and offers advice to those considering the trip.

Listening to Your Gut: Action vs. Surrender

At Her Trails, we often talk about intuition: listening to your gut as a guide. But here’s the paradox:

Our gut also wants to keep us safe.

It pulls us between familiar comfort and new experiences that challenge and expand us.

The hardest part? Knowing when to push forward and when to trust the unfolding.

Abbey beautifully captures this tension in a recent Substack article. She writes:

“I thrive on action. It’s what has shaped so much of my life, my discipline, my drive, my passion. But what about the moments that ask for acceptance, that lean back to trust, to faith?

Sometimes, when we feel resistance, our fear-based response is to grip even harder. Life is designed to evolve, to shift, to change. The more we resist, the more we exhaust ourselves fighting the inevitable.”

Abbey’s story reminds us that the best decisions often come not from forcing, but from trusting.

Is This Your Moment?

If you’ve been eyeing the Larapinta Retreat, wondering if it’s the right move, take a breath. Ask yourself:

  • Am I hesitating out of fear or because I truly don’t want to go?
  • Am I gripping too tightly to what feels safe?
  • What happens if I trust myself and say yes?

Abbey’s advice? “If you’re thinking about it, you’re already halfway there.”

Two spots left. Your intuition led you here. Will you follow?

Partnering with First Nations Leadership

We are honoured to be working with 100% Finke, a First Nations-owned and operated organisation delivering the Larapinta Trail Tourism Project. This initiative creates real career pathways for local First Nations peoples, drawing on deep cultural knowledge and tourism expertise.

At the helm of 100% Finke is Western Arrarnta man and Traditional Aboriginal Owner of Hermannsburg (Ntaria), Benjamin Kenny.

“The company’s mission is to create employment opportunities for local Aboriginal men and women. It’s a collective effort where people from various cultural backgrounds come together to share knowledge, culture, and, most importantly, support each other.” – Benjamin Kenny

This partnership reflects our deep respect for Country, culture, and community. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and walk these trails with a greater understanding of their significance.

Still Unsure? Let’s Talk.

Making an intuitive decision doesn’t always mean going it alone. Sometimes, we need a conversation to help us hear our own wisdom more clearly.

If you’re on the fence, Sam is here to help, without pressure, just clarity.
