The race kicks off and concludes in the scenic town of Bright, offering a unique blend of gruelling climbs and awe-inspiring vistas. Traverse a variety of landscapes, including steep mountain trails and serene forest paths, all set against the striking backdrop of the Alpine National Park.

Her Trails: Beyond Just the Finish Line
At Her Trails, we aim for more than just race completion. Our 16-week program is meticulously designed to build not just your physical stamina, but also mental grit, and a true appreciation for the art of running.

Training Phases: Foundation and Ascent
Your journey starts with a 2-week foundation phase, designed to prepare both your body and mind for the challenges ahead. This is followed by a 14-week staged program that focuses on increasing your endurance and strength, specifically for the challenging terrain of the Buffalo Stampede Sky Run.

A Holistic Approach: Physical and Mental Training
Our program takes a 360-degree approach to your training by incorporating targeted strength workouts, mobility exercises, and yoga sessions to enhance your training. To complement your physical training, we integrate mindset coaching sessions, aimed at cultivating the mental resilience essential for tackling the rigors of this challenging course. All of this is set within a supportive community framework, designed to keep you inspired, accountable, and focused on your marathon goals.

Run Programming

Experience a gradual and safe progression in your training with our proven system designed to prevent injuries and optimise your performance. Our program combines a variety of training sessions, including base mile, speed, hill, threshold, active recovery sessions, and long runs workouts. 

Weekly Trail Time

Elevate your experience  with our weekly episodes covering essential topics. From technique and gear to support systems, recovery, and safety, we provide valuable insights to enrich your trail journey and apply its wisdom in your everyday routine. 

 

Run Specific Strength

Build strength, resilience, and longevity with our weekly 30-60 minute at-home strength videos. Activate, stabilise, and train your body through targeted exercises that enhance your running performance and help prevent injuries. 

 

Mobility Session

Enhance your body's mobility and unlock its full range of motion with our weekly 15-50 minute mobility sessions. Address imbalances, combat physical stress, and alleviate fatigue as you give your body the freedom to move and perform at its best.

 

Coaching Support

Our weekly coaching sessions provide a dedicated space to address your progress, challenges, and modifications. We believe in the power of personalised support, and our coaches are here to guide you through your journey, offering valuable insights and motivation. 'The 50km ultra trail marathon was a goal that I set at a tumultuous time in my life…it was a chance for me to prove to myself that I can do, and succeed at, hard things.

Of course a run of that length takes preparation. The Her Trails training guide took the mental load away when preparing for the event, which was what I needed while combining full time work, study and being a mum. All I had to do was commit to myself that time, and show up for each session. The mix of strength, speed work and base miles allowed me to stay consistent and injury free, and kept it interesting.

Achieving big goals takes focus and consistency, and I went into the event feeling like I had done the work. Despite the obvious physical challenge of running 50km, I enjoyed myself so much and even managed to come in around my goal time. Looking forward to the next event, and would 100% use the program again.'
